Dorset Shockwave are Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons working at the Dorset County Hospital. We also work at the Dorset County Hospital. This treatment is unfortunately not yet available on the NHS.
We are able to offer a comprehensive assessment of all musculoskeletal problems. We work with a team of physiotherapists, radiologists, podiatrists and orthotists to provide a multidisciplinary service encompassing both non-operative and operative treatment.
Nick Fernandez is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He qualified at
the Royal London Hospital in 1976 and trained in orthopaedics in the
Wessex region.He was appointed to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester in 1993. He deals with upper and lower limb musculoskeletal problems including trauma. He has a special interest in the shoulder and
minimally invasive surgery. He regularly visits other surgeons throughout Europe and North America to update on newest techniques.
He is a keen skier, cyclist, windsurfer and kitesurfer.
Nick Savva is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He qualified at
St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in 1994 and trained in
orthopaedics in Wessex. He undertook a fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery in Australia in 2006 and won the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society fellowship in 2008. He has recently written a book chapter on minimally invasive surgery. He deals with all aspects of upper and lower limb surgery including trauma. He is a keen cyclist and kitesurfer. He also runs an annual sports injuries and trauma, scientific conference.
